Maternity Photography: The Saunders Family

As a photographer, I often get to live vicariously through my clients. I only plan to marry once, but I get to relive all of the joy and excitement of weddings by photographing them. Hubby says no more littles in the near future? I work through my baby fever during a newborn photography session. The joy of an expectant mother is usually no different, but when I captured the Saunders family’s maternity photography session? There wasn’t a day during my pregnancy when I was as gorgeous as Tiauna – like, in my dreams!

Their maternity session took place at their home in the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia. Formerly a small urban farm, their property is lushly landscaped and is surrounded by beautiful gardens. That made the home’s exterior the perfect location for their family maternity photography.

The Saunders’ cutely evoked the spirit of the homestead with their denim and khaki themed family outfits. And mom’s cut-off overalls were the highlight of all of the ensembles.

By the time we started shooting a big storm was threatening to break open the sky. That didn’t stop us from getting a few intimate photos of Tiauna and Ty in celebration of their baby to come.

Studio Maternity Photography

We made it into the house just in time to miss the rain – and for Tiauna to get her solo maternity photography poses on a studio backdrop I’d set up earlier in her living room.

In a burnt orange drape and mocha backdrop Tiauna was thee definition of glowing! All I could do was look at the back of the camera and marvel at just how stunning she makes motherhood look.

Tiauna was the epitome of cool mom in an intricately patterned wrap dress and matching black fedora.
